AVIATION HISTORY
World War Two Aviation Photography

The photography on the following pages was taken by Phil Rizzo. When Phil passed on, his wife gave his photo collection to his nephew Frank Dovidio. Because of his great love of Warbirds and their history, Frank has very graciously allowed us to present them here.

Phil Rizzo was born April 26th 1920 in Rochester New York where he grew up, and graduated from Franklin High school in 1938. He was inducted into the Air Force in 1942 where he served in the eigth Air Force in England as a photographer. He photographed bombing missions and new medical procedures that were being performed, now known as plastic surgery. He was stationed in France for a short period of time after the invasion of both France and Germany, before his return home to Rochester New York in the spring of 1945.
